Aim High

December 26th, 2006 by Chitsu

We have only 3 raid cycles left before our world comes crashing down around us.

As we continue to try to push that last bit of content to further our progression as far as possible before the end comes,  we also must focus on rebuilding after the fall of Azeroth.

Everyone should have the focus and determination that brought us so far with them as they carry forth in to the new world to start again.    Let’s be ready to level fast, and help each other along the way.

The Most Depressing, Demoralizing, and Painful Week of Raiding in All of SFD History Is Now Behind Us.

December 13th, 2006 by Chitsu

Tuesday: 25 people showed up for MC, it should have been enough to kill up to shaz, but we couldn’t get past the trash mobs on the bridge…

Wednesday: We killed Anub and Raz, but it took us every bit of our 4 hour raid window. It seemed that we were picking up speed and adjusting to the new mods. Things were hopeful.

Thursday: No raiding, chances to practice decursing.

Friday: 5 straight hours of wiping on Faerlina. 1-3 shaman off and on the whole night. Absolute failure on every pull. Only 1 attempt was even remotely noteworthy, and we wiped at around 70%

Sunday: over an hour on Razorgore, primarily because we could find orb controllers who could see the pet bar. 4 more hours before Firemaw dropped. 8 hours of raiding total, and we weren’t able to kill Chromag. Normally this is a 5 hour clear, this was an 8 hour nubfest.

Monday: 3 more hours of wiping on Faerlina, our best attempt was 58%. The servers crashed and we ended early.

Tuesday: No raiding, no practicing on decursing.

We enter in to this weeks raid cycle tired and battered. Morale is low for many, including me. We have the talent, we have the way. Can we bounce back? or do we shamespiral back to MC. Only time will tell, beginning with tonight.

I remain hopeful, but things seem bleak. Good luck team.

Hey, you remember that one guild? What ever happened to them? Where are they now?

We kicked,  we clawed, we scraped.   And we’ve managed to get pre-patch Maexxna to 10%.   Sadly,  we will never be able to claim that we killed her, but at least we can say we got very close.    Next week, with the patch, we will get a sizable buff to our raid, and I anticipate a smooth transition for the raid.  We will have Raz and Anub to warm up on, and Faerlina to get the kinks worked out.  Then it’s back to Maexxna, this time with 5% more health, and much more powerful healing.

In other news, BWL farming is starting to shape up.  We are still taking 50% longer than it took us when it was in the hands of our progression raiders,  but the casuals are definately picking things up, and if they maintain focus and continue to put forth 110% effort,  we will get back to progression speeds in short order.

MC is still going strong, as people begin working on their second alts I see this zone eventually fading away completely.  I strongly encourage everyone who wants to participate to show up on Tuesdays and get it while it lasts.   Eventually we will probably see MC bumped off of the schedule completely and replaced with AQ40 as our progression raids in Naxx begin to fill out all three days.

In general,  I’d like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the expansion is fast approaching.  Be considerate of others as you conduct your business, and keep a clear head about loot.  By all counts,  the 65dps weapons in Naxx are replaced fairly quickly, and the armor has a bit more longevity.   Plan ahead as best you can for the expansion, and keep in mind that our entire world is about to change, so don’t get yourselves worked up over trivial matters.  Let’s keep pushing hard to see how far we can get before the floor drops out from underneath us,  and be ready to level to 70 and begin dominating our new environment.
